He started gaining fans with the iconic, “Space Oddity,” which he performed here on a Swiss TV show in 1969.

“Heroes” was originally released as a single in September of 1977, and then appeared on his Heroes album later that year.
The Last Time He Performed As Ziggy Stardust
On July 3rd, 1973, Bowie shocked fans by announcing (after the final encore of “Rock and Roll Suicide”) that this show would be the final Ziggy Stardust concert.
His Final Televised Performance
In 2005, David Bowie performed in public for the final time, as part of the charity concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York, singing a beautiful rendition of “Life On Mars?”
